Expensive Designer Dog Clothing

Taking a little deviation from the small world of chihuahua clothes, I want to take a look at the pricey world of designer dog clothes over the next few days.

I thought my dog had it good!--these dogs truly live like royalty. And the kicker is that these aren't even that expensive compared to some of the dog clothes I've seen recently, being sold today.  It's insanity!  But for those who have an ocean of both money AND love for their little doggies, no expense can be spared, apparently!

Cheap Chihuahua Dresses

Those who follow the chihuahua clothes blog know we like cheap dog clothes. Well recently, we wrote a piece on chihuahua dresses and talked about where you can find them. For the record, I've never bought a chihuahua dress from these folks, but they look alright and I am damn impressed with how cheap they're managing to sell these little adorable dog dresses for!

Chihuahua Riding A Tortoise

Having launched the chihuahua clothes store a few days ago, we've been receiving a lot of email from people. Someone sent me this funny video of an applehead chihuahua riding on the back or a 20 year-old tortoise!

I'm not usually one to indulge in these weird, funny little dog videos, but I thought this was too cute to not pass along and I think you'll like it.  Just make sure you turn the volume on your machine before watching it because it's rather loud! 

I have no idea what the deal is with this chihuahua-turtle combo, but they're quite the team, even if the chihuahua is scared and wonder wtf is happening. Lol. He looks too cute in his chihuahua clothing and standing perched on the back of the tortoise's shell...  Hope you enjoy this one!

Chihuahua Fashion - A Freakshow Institution

Chihuahua fashion has always been a bit of a nutty institution. You have the adorable little dogs--who are sometimes quite aggressive and nippy--wearing these little cute costumes; and then you have the freaky owners with the high pitched "OH MY GOSH!!!" voices and screaming at other owners and their little doggies with an almost psychotic enthusiasm for little dog clothing.

And now, apparently there is even luxury chihuahua clothing that sells for $3000 a pop, or a crystal-studded chihuahua dress!

It seems the fashion world for little dogs is thriving and healthier than ever! As a sucker for these little clothes, this seems good news for my little pooches, and bad for my wallet!

$3000 Chihuahua Dress from Swarovski

I thought my little dog's chihuahua clothing was nice, and then I saw this: http://www.chihuahuaclothes.co/swarovskichihuahuafashion

 ...using over 3,000 Swarovski crystals in over 30 colors. Small dog fashion has reached new heights with this unique handmade doggie dress.  Susan applies each Swarovski crystal by hand using tweezers; among them are butterflies and flowers delicately sewn on, using French Knots, placed on Swarovski crystal fabric mesh. When the sun or direct light hits this dress "Bling" never had it so good. 

I've known a lot of dog owners with chihuahua that were spoiled, but I have yet to meet a chihuahua quite THIS spoiled! I hope I run into someone in L.A. on my trip next month who has one of these! It would be a chihuahua fashion spectacle, to be sure!
